Sem 3 done with

Finally sem 3 is over (since 2 weeks ago, this post is rather late =D) and another half year to go before I'll be free from the clutches of shah alam/intec =P. This semester is definitely the most hectic sem ever. Sometimes, I find myself so tensed up and worried about work that I find it hard to breathe and think normally. This was remedied nonetheless by sitting aimlessly in the middle of a pathway at Cemara hostel with Amy staring at the starless sky reminiscing about how life was SO much more easier back in high school. How much more enjoyable and fun form 4/5 life was. How we could play hard and still get things done on time. Somehow.

But then on the other hand, despite how heavy the workload we had, we had one of the most enjoyable times of our lives. Regardless of the fact that we had never-ending tests almost every week, we managed to squeeze in time for planning the best ever surprise birthday celebrations, and my, was that fun. In the midst of all these celebrations, unknowingly, we were all getting closer to each other, strengthening the friendship we had.

One day, standing on the bus heading back to my hostel, a thought suddenly struck me. I no longer hated this place anymore. Nor did I like it. But I've just gotten used to it. I knew I will never (in a million years or so to come) like this place but I've finally felt comfortable here. I finally feel like I actually fit in here. I love the friends I've met here. I love the bond we all share with each other. And that all compensates for the crappy place and rules I have to put up with. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

This semester can be summed up as a roller coaster ride of emotions for me. There were tears of joy, tears of frustration and tears of desperation. And through it all, I was blessed with the greatest of house/roommates, family and friends to pull me through. =) This semester really tested my limits, but it also revealed to me how throughly blessed I was. And I'm grateful for everything. =)

Little girl

Sometimes I wish for a moment there,

Can I be that little girl again,

That stuck to her daddy all the time,

following him on business trips all around.

Or the little girl who was so naive,

that got easily scared of horror stories,

and as the darkness creeps in,

will hold her brother's hand to sleep.

Can I be the little girl,

whose head could only reach up to the tabletop,

eyeing the plate of food on the table,

begging mummy for another piece.

And the girl that lies her head,

upon her sister's lap she rests.

As her sister brushes her hair,

and braids it into a neat little plait.

Sometimes I wonder whether I really could,

turn back time and keep it there,

ban all worries from my head,

and smile like a little girl once again.

So can I be that girl once more,

And cuddle in Your arms and tell You my troubles,

and will you hold me tight,

and reassure me that every thing's gonna be alright?

Stunned, Shocked, Surprised =)

It all began when my roommate came back from class looking rather down. Noticing her moodiness I attempted to ask her what was wrong but she merely shrugged and said nothing. I tried to cheer her up but failed miserably. Puzzled, I sms-ed her classmates to dig out what was bothering her, nevertheless, they were all as confused as I was. They all said the same thing ,she was perfectly bubbly and joyful in the morning but in the afternoon her mood took a 180 degrees turn and she just wasn't talking to anyone. Worried as I was, I decided to leave it as it is, hoping that she'll brighten up eventually.

Due to the unpredictable weather, I decided to message Qi Ying so that we could exercise in the study room together. Qi Ying agreed but said that she'll have to return back earlier as she planned to cook before J-Cyn left for her prayer meeting. After the exercise, I wanted to go to the Ramadhan bazaar as this was the last time I will be able to go for it this year. Despite the fact that Qi Ying was in a hurry, she insisted in tagging along. Going to the bazaar at 7 pm ++ was really fun because stall vendors were handing out free food - kuihs, paus, and the like- and I was even given a huge pack of warm soya. =) Surprisingly, Qi Ying forbid me to eat too much of the food I was given, simply saying that she wants me to save some tummy space for our midvalley outing the next day. Naive as I was, I handed over some of the kuih to her for safe-keeping. =P

Zaharah was the only one in our unit when I returned to the room. She then prompt me about YS's mood and stated that she saw that my roomie was close to tears when she left the room for dinner. After chatting with Zaharah for a couple of minutes, she suddenly started scolding me and chasing me to take my bath. Assuming that she was in one of her playful moods again, I decided to do as she ordered. Just as I stepped out of the bathroom, my phone rang. Qi Ying called me in a state of frenzy saying that my roomie got into a terrible argument with her friend and was now crying uncontrollably at the canteen. She frantically ask me to come help console her. Just as I was about to leave the room, my neighbour came up informing me about the same thing saying that she saw YS break down and there was nothing that anyone could do to console her.

Concerned, I hurried over to Cemara canteen. Upon arriving there, I saw my roomie with Ker Yin sitting together with their backs facing towards me. Anxiously, I rushed up to her, never bothering to look around me, and sat next to her while putting my arm around her in an attempt to comfort her. Surprisingly, she turn around and smiled at me, saying to me that she was just fine. Simultaneously, a pudding/cake materialized out of nowhere and a whole bunch of people started to surround me singing a birthday song. I was so surprised that I didn't even turn to look at the birthday cake, and just continued staring at my roommate in shock. Only after a while did reality kick in and I realized how gullible I had been. >.< ' And yes, they were throwing me a surprise birthday party. =)

ALM has really really good potential actresses/actors and I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends. =) Thanks guys for the creatively planned surprise party and thanks so so much for all the effort put in to actually trick me. =) Thanks so so so much everyone. Words can't express how grateful I am to have you all as friends. =) Lotsa thanks to Qi Ying for specially making the healthy fruit pudding/cake. =) And I had a great time at Midvalley the next day. Reached hostel at a record time of 12 midnight. =) ah bliss. =)
